«Tears for Fears» es una banda inglesa de pop rock formada en Bath , Inglaterra, en 1981 por Roland Orzabal y Curt Smith
En marzo de 1983 publicaron su primer LP como «Tears for fears». Se tituló “The Hunting”
Y con el tercer sencillo de ese su primer álbum, lograron su primer gran éxito. La canción «Mad World» alcanzó el puesto numero 3 en las listas del Reino Unido.
El segundo single del segundo LP ,“Songs from the Big Chair”, sería el que les lanzaría internacionalmente. Titulado “Shout” fue un éxito en el Reino Unido y en Estados Unidos. «Shout» supuso la antesala perfecta para siguiente single: “Everybody wants to rule the world”que se publicó el 22 de marzo del 85.
